Stargazing: Tarinai - la la larks

I seem to recall when School Food Punishment announced their indefinite hiatus. It's always disappointing when a talented band informs the world that their releases and performances has come to an end, but to be 100% honest, I was personally quite hit and miss with School Food Punishment.

However, there was no doubt in my mind that the singer of the band, Uchimura Yumi, left a pretty big impression on me. I could easily tell that her vocals were empowering a song from a good mile away, and such was the case when I finally found her again, years after School Food Punishment had disbanded.

It was through this album with the bizarre cover art, from a band called la la larks. Never heard of them, but I was recommended to check them out. Pretty quickly, the vocals reached out to me, and I knew School Food Punishment had a successor. However, quite hastily did I also discover that I liked this new band's style more as well, and no other song portrays that better than 'Tarinai'. It has hints of that radically dynamic instrumental charm that School Food Punishment had, but dishes it out in a more pleasant tempo and really draws out the beautiful vocals from Uchimura. I can't stop listening to it, I just can't.
